On February 29, 2008, AEG announced a partnership agreement with boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions and businessman Gabriel Brener and the Brener International Group. AEG retains operating control of the Houston Dynamo, with significant input from De La Hoya and Brener.

ABOUT GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS

Los Angeles-based Golden Boy Promotions was established in 2001 by Oscar De La Hoya, the first Hispanic to own a national boxing promotional company. De La Hoya won an Olympic gold medal in 1992 and has won 10 world boxing titles since. In 2007, in its sixth year of promoting, Golden Boy Promotions set a record by selling more than $2.5 million in pay-per-view homes in a single night. Also in 2007, Golden Boy Promotions established the record for highest grossing pay-per-view homes in a single year with more than $4 million total.
