Major League Soccer, Real Salt Lake and M.L.S W.O.R.K.S have partnered with Summer Bridge Activities to present the Active Bodies Active Minds program, focused on summer fitness and reading. As a local partner, Chick-fil-A and Spoon Me are actively involved in helping children achieve better grades in school and be physically active year-round. The program encourages children to stay mentally and physically active during the summer months.
The program offers great prizes to those who participate throughout June, July, and August! Children who complete the reading portion of the program each month will receive a Chick-fil-A 4 oz. Ice Dream , those who complete the physical portion of the program receive a frozen yogurt from Spoon Me and if a child completes both the reading and physical portion each month, they receive a 4-Piece Chicken Nugget Kid's Meal courtesy of Chick-fil-A in addition to the Ice Dream. At the end of each month (June, July, and August), participating children must bring their completed log sheets to a local Chick-fil-A and/or Spoon Me to redeem for your special treats. Those who complete the entire 3 month program are also entered into a sweepstakes to attend The David Beckham Academy for 3 days in Los Angeles, California! Also, there will be monthly sweepstakes featuring T-shirts, an autographed soccer ball, and other great prizes.
An 8-page activity booklet has been distributed throughout the Salt Lake community. The booklet contains program details, activities, and directs readers to the official website where, with parental supervision, kids can sign up and begin to log their reading and exercise hours. Kids and parents can still pick up a booklet by visiting the Real Salt Lake Front Office, the Active Bodies Active Minds Carnival Real booth at RSL home games, or visit a nearby Chick-fil-A.
