Chivas USA Head Coach U-18 Sacha van der Most van Spijk

U18 Coach Chivas USA U-18 Head Coach Sacha van der Most van Spijk joined the Chivas USA youth system when it was established in 2005. Born on January 14, 1971 in Den Haag, Holland, Van der Most began playing soccer at the age of eight, when he joined the youth club DSO, where he played for four years. He then joined Quick's youth development team, making his professional debut with Quick's first team at the age of 16, and continued to play with the club until the age of 29. In 1995, Van der Most played for the Monterrey Bay Jaguars in the A-League, and played for the San Pedro Dolphins in Belize, Central America in 1999.

Van der Most has many years of coaching experience in different youth levels, starting with Quick’s youth teams in Holland, ranging in age from U-8 to U-16. In 1994, he was invited to coach soccer camps in Northern California and coached there for several years before moving to Southern California in 2000. He currently coaches the Chivas USA’s U-18 team, which plays in the highly competitive U.S. Soccer Development Academy, as well as international youth tournaments, such as the Copa Chivas and the Copa Saprissa. While coaching in Southern California, Van der Most earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology at California State University, Long Beach.

Van der Most currently resides in Downey, California with his wife Luz and two children, Yolanthe and Zebas.

CHIVAS USA U-16 HEAD COACH SAMUEL RIVAS

U16 Coach Samuel Rivas joined the Chivas USA Youth Teams as Head Coach for Chivas USA U-16 during the club's first year in 2005. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on September 21, 1957, Rivas brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to the youth system at Chivas USA.

Rivas played soccer at a professional level in Mexico for 11 years, with four First Division teams (Club Jalisco, Chivas de Guadalajara, Morelia and Tigres). After finishing his playing career in Mexico, Rivas moved to the United States in search of coaching opportunities, and has worked closely with both amateur soccer leagues and soccer club teams. In addition to being the Head Coach for Chivas USA U-16 team, Rivas and his daughter Stephanie have coached an amateur soccer club for the last four years.

Rivas has been married for 25 years to his wife Martha and resides in the city of Lakewood, California, with his four children: Samuel Alejandro, Omar Jorge, Eric Joel and Stephanie.
