Club Deportivo Chivas USA has a strong commitment to Youth Development. Since the founding of the club in 2005, C.D. Chivas USA has been actively involved in the youth soccer community. Several Chivas academies have opened in LA and surrounding areas, as well as Northern California, Arizona and Texas.

Chivas USA has dedicated itself to providing a platform for young soccer players to reach their potential. Good coaching is key to the success of the development of soccer players, and for this reason Chivas USA started the Coaches Connection. This is an initiative to reach out to the soccer community and coaches in particular, to support coaches at all levels of our game.

Coaches Connection strives to support coaches by informing them about developments in the Chivas USA Youth Development System. Every month we will provide you with Coaching Tips on all aspects of the game. By doing so we like to start an ongoing conversation between the Coaching Community and Chivas USA's Coaching Staff. With our Monthly Drill we will give coaches insight in the tools we use to develop our players.

The Success of our Youth Development System can be measured by the amount of players that come through the system and make the final step towards the Reserves and the First Team. Carlos Borja, Eder Robles, Jorge Flores and our last signing Gerson Mayen are players that have made this final step. Good coaches provide the tools for players to develop their skills so they can reach their potential.
