The seventh annual COPA LA took place this past Memorial Day weekend at the soccer complex in San Bernardino. The competition kicked off Saturday morning with 146 teams competing in age brackets from 1999 to 1989 (boys) and 1989 (girls) for what is annually one of the top youth soccer tournaments in Southern California. Tournament officials estimate that 8000 people attended matches on Saturday with close to 7000 attending both Sunday and Monday to close out the tournament. The registration costs for the teams to participate have always stayed less than half the cost of similar run tournaments thanks to the commitment from the Galaxy and COPA LA sponsors; Herbalife, adidas, Bank of America, Macy's, Sports Authority, State Farm and La Opinion.
