Please join our efforts as we raise money and save lives through the Nothing But Nets Challenge. A multi-city fundraising effort, the Galaxy have challenged three MLS teams and their fans including the Chicago Fire, D.C. United and the Seattle Sounders FC to raise funds for the cause. Created by the United Nations Foundation, Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Donate online anytime or make a contribution at the LA Galaxy Foundation booth at one of the Galaxy's upcoming games on April 4, 7 or 11th at The Home Depot Center. The challenge will culminate on World Malaria Day on April 25, 2009.
Malaria infects more than 500 million people a year and kills more than a million - one person dies about every 30 seconds. Malaria is particularly devastating in Africa, where it is a leading killer of children. Over 3,000 Sub-Saharan African children die each day from malaria. Malaria can be prevented through a simple, inexpensive measure - a $10 bed net: sleeping each night under a net treated with insecticides that kill the nocturnal malaria-carrying mosquitoes or stop them from biting.

Official Nothing But Nets Fundraising Challenge Rules:
Contribute to the winning team and be automatically entered into a drawing to win one (1) road trip for you and one (1) guest to watch the 2009 All-Star new Game at Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah on Wednesday, July 29, 2009!
The Prize includes: (i) tickets for winner and winner's guest to the 2009 All-Star new Game at Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah on Wednesday, July 29, 2009; (ii) roundtrip airfare for Winner and a guest to Sandy, Utah (round-trip coach-class air transportation from a U.S. major airport nearest Winner's residence (provided such residence is in California. Winner and guest must travel on same itinerary ); (iii) three nights stay (July 28 through July 30, 2009 ) for Winner and Winner's guest at a hotel to be selected by Sponsor (double occupancy, standard hotel accommodations) and (iv) ground transportation to and from hotel and airport.
Winner must be at least 21 years old and a residence of California. All net proceeds will benefit Nothing But Nets.
