FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ANSWERS:
Q: Why CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas?
A: With construction scheduled at Arrowhead Stadium over the next two years, the Wizards will no longer be able to play their matches in the stadium they have called home since Major League Soccer's inaugural season in 1996. The Wizards considered numerous locations on both sides of the state line and determined that CommunityAmerica Ballpark (CAB) is the best short-term fit for the organization, the players and the fans.
Opened in 2003, CAB has offered intimate, family-friendly entertainment for Northern League baseball's Kansas City T-Bones as well as concerts and other events. The Wizards will work with the T-Bones organization to ensure that CAB can host the United States' highest level of professional soccer.
The Wizards are very excited about the next two seasons, as the team moves out of 79,000-seat Arrowhead and into a more intimate facility that caters to fans of all ages. The organization is also thrilled about the opportunity to move closer to our fans in the Wyandotte County area and offering exciting pre and post-game activities thanks to the attractions surrounding CAB. The location is also adjacent to two major highways (I-70 & I-435).
Q: I've never been to CAB, where is it?
A: The stadium is located just west of the Legends at Village West in Kansas City, Kansas and is easily accessible from both I-70 and I-435.

Q: How long will the Wizards play at CAB?
A: The Wizards anticipate playing at CommunityAmerica Ballpark for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
Q: Have other soccer clubs shared stadiums with baseball teams in the past?
A: Yes, Major League Soccer's D.C. United shared RFK Stadium with Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals from 2005-2007. In the past, the Rochester Rhinos of USL-1 shared a stadium with a baseball team, as well as the majority of former NASL teams..
Q: Where will I park and what will it cost?
A: The Wizards are proud to continue the 2007 policy of free parking for our fans. Existing parking lots to the west of CAB will be reserved for season ticket holders. Additional day-of-game parking will be available south of State Avenue, within walking distance of the stadium.
Q: How will the stadium be modified to meet Major League Soccer's standards?
A:
- The right centerfield outfield wall will be modified to accommodate a 70-yard wide by 110-yard long playing field.
- Seating capacity will be increased
- The dirt infield will be sodded over prior to each Wizards home match to ensure each game is played on a high-quality, all-grass surface
- Temporary press and broadcast facilities will be installed to accommodate Wizards working media members
- Lighting will be upgraded to accommodate the standards of MLS and the Wizards local and national television partners.
Q: What will the seating capacity be?
A: The Wizards will add seating facilities to accommodate approximately 10,000 fans.
Q: I'm worried that with fewer available seats, I might not be able to get tickets at game time. What should I do?
A: This is a valid concern. At Arrowhead, seats were readily available, but this is no longer the case. To ensure tickets to all matches, we encourage all Wizards fans to purchase season tickets. Numerous special ticket packages will also be available for advance purchase for fans.

Q: When will season tickets go on sale?
A: Season ticket deposits will be accepted beginning Tuesday, November 6.
Q: I'm a Wizards fan but have never purchased season tickets. I know all about the new stadium proposal. How do I reserve my season tickets for the permanent stadium opening?
A: This policy has changed since the last FAQ. The following are the ticket prices for the 2007 season:
Wizards fans who are not currently season ticket holders who want priority seating in the team's permanent home are encouraged to buy 2008 season tickets. Current season ticket holders are already arranged into a priority system based on the original date they purchased season tickets, beginning at the team's inception in 1996. Fans who purchase season tickets for the first time in 2008 will then have priority over those who wait until later to do so.
Q: You've said "priority" a lot. What exactly does that mean to me?
A: Season ticket holders with better "priority" numbers will be the first to choose their seating types and seat locations when the Wizards permanent home opens.
Q: I live in Wyandotte County; will the Wizards offer me anything now that they're playing in my back yard?
A: The Wizards are very proud to be crossing the state line for at least these next two years and will do our best to accommodate our new neighbors in Wyandotte County. When single game tickets go on sale, we will offer a special pre-sale for Wyandotte County residents. Check back at kcwizards.com often for details.
Q: What premium seating options will be available at CAB?
A: Party decks, suites, picnic terraces and barbecue tents currently on-site will provide Wizards fans with exciting seating options. The Wizards will also add more Fieldside Reserved seats than were available at Arrowhead Stadium. Demand was huge for Fieldside Reserved tickets this year, as they sold out in one day upon their initial offering in 2007.
Q: When will individual game tickets go on sale?
A: Date of initial individual game ticket sales is still to be determined. Check kcwizards.com frequently for updates.
