Tamara
Director & ChoreographerTamara Jenkins is a high energy, innovative director/choreographer who brings over 15 years experience in the areas of dance, cheerleading and fitness. She was the director and choreographer for the FlyGirls professional dance team and the Jr. Flyers Dancers. Both teams supported the NBA Development League Team (NBDL), Fort Worth Flyers. During her two seasons, the FlyGirls Dancers were acknowledged as one the best dance teams in the NBDL by the National Basketball Association.
A part-time fitness model, she was featured as a lead dancer in national fitness guru, Donna Richardson's Old School Dance Party workout video with the Sugar Hill Gang. Recently she was selected as fitness model for Lululemon Athletica, a fitness apparel company based in Canada. She is featured in their in-store and website advertising and hosts various Lululemon sponsored events.
Tamara has trained extensively under instructors/choreographers Marty Kudelka and Roger Lee, who both work with some of the leading names in pop music including; Janet Jackson, N'Sync, Pink and Justin Timberlake. She travels often to Los Angeles and New York to attend master classes by hip-hop greats such as Wade Robson and Shane Sparks.
In 2006, she was selected as a NIKE Rockstar Hip-Hop instructor showcasing choreography by world-renowned choreographer Jamie King and has served as a lead instructor in several Nike sponsored events. She is also a member of the All-Pro3 staff, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she works with professional cheerleaders and dancers on choreography for halftime performances. Some of the teams include the Washington Redskins, Charlotte Bobcats, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans and Las Celestes del Cruz Azul (Mexico's first professional soccer cheerleading squad). Additionally, she is a presenter, guest instructor and competition judge for the Asociacion Nacional De Porristas (National Association of Cheerleaders) in Mexico City.
Tamara holds a B.A. Degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma and is certified by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). She also heads up her own marketing consulting business, NRG Communications. She is honored to make history as the director of augural team of the FC Dallas Dancers. "I feel blessed to combine my love of dance, my passion for sports and my career in marketing/advertising into one job."
