POSITION SUMMARY

The individuals in this role will be responsible for greeting Guests and assisting them throughout the stadium, as well as monitoring crowd behavior and taking steps to ensure that each Guest may enjoy the event without disruption from others. The Event Staff will work hard to make sure RFK Stadium looks its best and our Guests receive the assistance they need. The individuals in this role will provide our guests with the highest quality soccer and entertainment experience in a friendly and safe atmosphere that is consistent with what our fans expect.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Director of Operations

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisors – Responsible for supervising a small staff of guest services attendants and ticket-takers. Must have excellent customer service, communication, and event management skills. Must also have supervisory skills and the ability to manage a small staff. Knowledge of D.C. United and RFK Stadium is a plus.

Guest Services Attendant – Assist Guests in locating areas of RFK Stadium and supply general information. Provide a high quality customer service interaction with all guests which will set the tone for the overall entertainment experience. Escalate issues as needed to supervisors. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ticket-Taker – Examine and scan tickets from Guests who attend events at RFK Stadium. Monitor and control Guest behavior and access to stadium as required. Escalate issues as needed to supervisors. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.


SUPPORTIVE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Director of Operations with special projects/duties as needed


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • Must be able to work all soccer events at RFK Stadium including all D.C. United home games.
  • Job duties include being able to walk long distances, climb stairs/ramps, and stand for extended periods of time – alternative means can be used to complete these duties.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions – hot/cold/rain/snow
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Housing in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is highly recommended.

POSITION SUMMARY

The individuals in this role will be responsible for properly operating a Point Of Sale register system in order to sell merchandise to fans and customers while providing outstanding customer service and support.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sell merchandise to fans and customers utilizing Point-Of-Sale (POS) registers
Accurate cash management and handling
Provide outstanding customer service
Assist with merchandising of products and visual displays
Maintain detailed communications with Merchandising Manager
Assist with coordination and execution of special projects as needed
Maintain general protection of company assets while adhering to corporate retail policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications are:

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must
Excellent communication skills

United internship presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the daily operation of the most successful club in the history of U.S. professional soccer. Winners of ten domestic and international championships, D.C. United also prides itself in having the best front office in Major League Soccer. To help continue its tradition of success, D.C. United is looking for interested and qualified candidates to serve as interns and assist in its day-to-day operation.

D.C. United provides three opportunities during the year to participate in an internship:

  • January to May (Winter/Spring Internship) – Deadline to apply is Dec. 31
  • May to August (Summer Internship) – Deadline to apply is Apr. 15
  • August to December (Fall/Winter Internship) – Deadline to apply is Aug. 31

D.C. United internships are available to college students (domestic and international) for credit and professionals interested in beginning a career in sports. All D.C. United internships are unpaid and do not provide an intern with any living accommodations. To help support certain needs of candidates, both part-time and full-time internships are available.
