Fan's Code of Conduct | Fan's Bill of Rights
FAN'S CODE OF CONDUCT
- Fans are encouraged to cheer, sing, and otherwise support their team while remaining respectful and courteous to their fellow patrons, team stadium employees, and stadium property.
- Fans will not engage in disruptive behavior, including foul, racial, obscene or abusive language or gestures towards, or in reference to, a player, coach, referee, fan or staff member.
- Fans will not engage in fighting and are prohibited from throwing objects or attempting to enter the field. Those who engage in any of these actions will be ejected immediately from the venue and remanded to the proper authorities.
- Adult fans of age who choose to consume alcoholic beverages will do so in a responsible manner. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner by trained personnel at the respective stadium.
- Fans will comply with requests from team and stadium staff regarding stadium operations and from local authorities regarding emergency response procedures.
- Fans will sit in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
- Fans will smoke in designated smoking areas only.
- Fans will not exhibit any obscene, indecent, political or inciteful messages on signs, clothing or other material.
- Fans will respect the referees. Taunting, abusing or any other improper gestures will be handled promptly by the stadium staff.
- Fans will return the ball respectfully to the ball kid on the sidelines or a stadium staff member, in the event that a soccer ball goes into the stands.
- Fans will not use whistles and laser pointers, which seriously detract from the quality of the spectator experience and could have a negative impact on the outcome of a game.
FAN'S BILL OF RIGHTS
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to watch the game in a safe, clean and healthy environment.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to know that the investors, team management, coaches, and players appreciate each fan's support.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to know that the investors, team management, coaches, and players maintain the highest regard for the integrity of the game of soccer.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to be treated in a consistent, courteous, and professional manner by all stadium and team personnel.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to 'cheer on' his or her team provided that the support is in good taste and does not negatively impact the event experience of his/her fellow spectators.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to 'cheer on' his or her team provided that the support is in good taste and does not negatively impact the playing of the game.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to be treated with dignity and respect by other spectators attending the game as well as the stadium personnel, competing teams, and organization staging the game.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to expect good sportsmanship, on and off the field, from D.C. United/Major League Soccer personnel.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to expect prompt and accurate information as it relates to the competition and stadium experience.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to expect reasonable prices for all goods and services available at the game and under the control of the team.
- A fan attending a D.C. United game has the right to express constructive criticism regarding the competition and the stadium experience and have those opinions transmitted to Major League Soccer or its representatives.
