Crew Donation Procedures and Guidelines

Charitable donations are an integral part of the Columbus Crew’s community outreach initiatives. We are pleased to provide in-kind donations (but no monetary contributions or sponsorships) to a wide variety of charities, non-profit agencies, community organizations, youth soccer interests and schools and appreciate your interest in including us in your event. The following information details our procedures and guidelines regarding such donations.

Procedures

1. All donation requests must be submitted in writing at least six (6) weeks in advance of your event. No telephone requests will be accepted. Written requests must be submitted on the organization’s official letterhead and include:

a) Organization’s name, address and non-profit tax ID number
b) Contact name, mailing address and phone number
c) Type of event/program
d) Day, Date, Time
e) Event location
f) Who/what is benefiting from the funds raised

2. We are thankful for the high level of interest and enthusiasm surrounding the Columbus Crew and appreciate the support of our fans and the State of Ohio community. Due to the number of requests we receive, the Crew is only able to assist organizations once per calendar year. Organizations within the State of Ohio, with priority given to central Ohio, will generally receive support from the Crew depending upon the nature and scope of the event.

3. Donation requests will be responded to via mail only, approximately two weeks prior to your event, and we ask that you refrain from making telephone inquiries regarding donation status, due to the sheer volume of requests we receive. As a result, it is highly recommended that your event not hinge on an anticipated donation from the Crew. It should be regarded as a complimentary element to your program, as we can not guarantee fulfillment of each and every request we receive due to the number we receive.

4. All charitable donations will be granted directly to organizations benefiting from the Columbus Crew’s involvement. The Crew does not provide assistance through fundraising companies or third-party representatives.
