Rooting for the Fire never tasted so good...
The Chicago Fire Foundation and Girls on the Run-Chicago teamed up to host the 2009 Girls on the Run-Chicago Fall 5K. The race took place Saturday, November 14th at TOYOTA PARK. The USATF certified 5K (3.1 mile) course ran through the beautiful Village of Bridgeview. Once again, the race started and finished at TOYOTA PARK with runners having the unique opportunity to run around the field and see themselves on the big screen as they crossed the finish line at midfield! Also, in celebration of Girls on the Run-Chicago's 10th anniversary, they hosted a "Lil' Sparks Sprints" to celebrate the future 10 years of Girls on the Run. This was an exciting event where kids and adults could run together in one race while helping to benefit Girls on the Run-Chicago. The WonderGirl race series, with more than 70 events across the United States and Canada, is the second largest 5k race series in the nation.
The Chicago Fire Foundation, the charitable division of the Chicago Fire, hosted its 9th Annual Frank Klopas Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Outing on August 31, 2009 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, IL. This was an exciting opportunity for fans to interact with the 2009 Chicago Fire team. Every foursome had the opportunity to golf with a Chicago Fire player or coach in a scramble format. The day included a continental breakfast, 18 holes of golf, lunch, cocktail reception and buffet dinner. The event concluded with a silent auction, raffle and the awarding of the day's prizes.
Thank you to all those who joined Frank in giving back to the Chicagoland community by participating in the 2009 Frank Klopas Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Outing!

On Saturday, May 9, 2009, the Chicago Fire Foundation hosted our annual commemorative jersey auction. Fans who attended the Chicago Fire vs. New England Revolution game had an opportunity to bid on commemorative Chicago Fire jerseys from each member of the team. These exclusive jerseys included green-colored names and numbers along with a special, one-of-a-kind patch to help highlight the Fire's "going green" initiatives throughout the game. Plus, every winner was given the opportunity to have the Fire player whose jersey they won personally autograph the new piece of memorabilia after the game! The event raised over $8,500 and all proceeds benefit the Chicago Fire Foundation. Thank you to all the fans that supported this year's commemorative jersey auction. Please stay tuned for more information on next year's event!
The 11th annual Chicago Fire Season Kickoff Luncheon was held March 24th at Sheraton. A tremendous crowd attended the luncheon, sponsored by Ticketmaster. This was the first opportunity of the season for fans to mingle with their favorite Fire players, coaches and even the mascot. There was also a silent auction which included items varying from autographed memorabilia to hotel stays and theater tickets.
NBC sports anchor Paula Faris emceed the event and this year's featured guest was Chicago native Jim Belushi-venerable comedian and televison, film and music star. Guests were also treated to a quiz show featuring Belushi and various sports anchors from Chicago including Jim Rose, Oscar Guzman, Hector Lozano, Jill Carlson and Paula Faris. The 2009 Season Kickoff Luncheon was a huge success and we would like to extend our greatest appreciation to all those who helped and participated in the luncheon and continue to support the Chicago Fire Foundation and the Chicago Fire. Please stay tuned for more information on next year's event.
At each Chicago Fire home game the Chicago Fire Foundation will be auctioning off an autographed jersey from one of the players of the visiting team. The auction is held at the Chicago Fire Foundation tent located on the Northeast Concourse. All proceeds benefit the Chicago Fire Foundation so stop by and check it out!
The Chicago Fire Foundation and local charities conduct raffles during every Chicago Fire home game. Look for the 50/50 sellers roving the stadium in yellow vests throughout each game until the end of halftime. In the second half, a winning raffle ticket is selected, with the Fan and the participating charity each receiving approximately 50% of the proceeds.
