MLS Experience

2006: After suffering a season-ending concussion in 2005, Alecko Eskandarian returned to top-form in 2006. In the season opener against New York, Eskandarian showed there were no ill effects from the post-concussion syndrome that kept him out for most of 2005, when he scored on a thunderous volley after entering the game only ten minutes earlier. In 22 games for the club, he scored seven goals and tallied two assists. His thunderous volley against Kansas City on 5/13 earned him Goal of the Week honors. He also scored the Black-and-Red's only goal against Real Madrid on 9/9. For his play, Eskandarian was made an MLS All-Star as a Commissioner's Pick.

2005: Eskandarian endured a difficult 2005. The striker saw time in only 12 games (seven starts) before suffering a concussion in a collision with New England goalkeeper Matt Reis on 6/18. The 2004 MLS Cup MVP notched one assist in League play and scored the first United goal of 2005, when he struck for a first half goal versus Harbour View FC of Jamaica in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

2004: In his sophomore season, Alecko Eskandarian made great strides in his game, providing the bulk of D.C. United's goal-scoring punch throughout the 2004 season. He earned two Player of the Week nods, 6/19 and 9/11, to accompany his four Sierra Mist Goal of the Week accolades, 4/3, 6/19, 7/3 and 9/18. He became the first United striker to tally double-digit goals (10) since 2001, doing so without the benefit of any penalty kick conversions. His strong play also earned him the D.C. United Coaches' Award for 2004.

2003: The first overall pick of the 2003 SuperDraft, Eskandarian stepped in and made an immediate impact for the Black-and-Red, appearing in 23 games. He contributed three goals and two assists in his first MLS season. Two of his goals came in a six-minute span versus the Columbus Crew at RFK Stadium on 6/14. He found the net again versus the New England Revolution in the waning seconds of the match on 7/27, helping D.C. to the biggest comeback in MLS history, a 4-2 victory.

International

2004: Eskandarian was one of five members of the Black-and-Red to be named to the U.S. U-23 National Team for the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Guadalajara, Mexico. He tallied four goals, including a hat trick against Honduras.

2003: Eskandarian earned his first cap with the U.S. Men in a 2-0 win over Wales in May.
