SANTA CLARA, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes forward Gavin Glinton attended a packed assembly at Walter L. Bachrodt Elementary School in San Jose on Thursday May 8. Glinton was welcomed by a resounding applause by more than 200 students, faculty and teachers.

The two-hour school visit began with the Turks and Caicos native speaking to the student body on the importance of education, staying in school, and answering the inquisitive questions from the kindergarten students through fifth grade group.

Glinton, who was raised in the East Bay, spent the second half of the assembly playing a variety of games with the entire student body. He showed off his soccer moves, like juggling the ball using his knees, feet and head, impressing all in attendance.

Glinton also participated in games the school set up for the children to compete in, such as balloon popping and ice cream eating contests. The day concluded with an autograph session, to further mark the memorable day for the school.

The Earthquakes together with CrestPoint Solutions, Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif. donated 250 tickets for the Columbus Crew game on May 10.
