Sueño players getting comfortable
"It felt better playing with (the U-19's)," said Miguel Sanchez of Inglewood, Calif. "They are players you can relate to. I felt more comfortable playing on Friday."
As one of the Final Five, Sanchez has appreciated being a part of Sueño MLS as a lifetime experience even to the point where he had to learn a new position.
"I was a forward before but they converter me over to a midfielder," he said.
For Sanchez, who has been playing soccer since he was six years old, having this opportunity is something that he has wanted from early on, so much so that one of his former academy coaches was the one to sign him up for Sueño MLS back in February.
"When I was little I told him I wanted to go pro," said Sanchez. "He signed me up but I don't think he thought I was going to make it this far."
Since progressing to the Final Five, Sanchez has had to make some adjustments.
"You definatley get more attention," said Sanchez. "I'm getting used to it feeling Hollywood. But seriously, this is very different going from not much attention to this, it's all very surprising."
For the remainder of the two week trials, Sanchez will work on keeping in shape and staying focused.
"I know I have to stay calm and play," he said. "The nervousness is there but I have to wait patiently."
