The MetroStars defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 during preseason action at The Home Depot Center on Friday. Seth Stammler - playing up top for the first time in his Metros career - had a hand in all three Metros goals, as he scored one and assisted on the two others.

"I am very pleased with the result and how we competed," said MetroStars head coach Mo Johnston. "Stammler played superb. We had him up front for the first time and he did exceptionally well. It is great to have players who are adaptable and can play multiple positions."
