2009: Everton FC edge MLS All-Stars on penalties

The MLS All-Stars suffered their first-ever defeat against international competition, falling to legendary English Premier League club Everton FC on penalty kicks at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 29. The sides played to a 1-1 draw in regulation on Louis Saha and Brad Davis first-half goals before All-Star MVP Tim Howard and MLS goalkeeper Kasey Keller each took the spotlight in PKs, with Everton earning a 4-3 edge.
