Guevara's goals pace East past West

Amado Guevera scored twice (56K|384K) in the first half of the 2004 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game on Saturday at RFK Stadium, leading the East to a 3-2 victory over the Western Conference. Guevara was named MVP for his performance on a day which opened with a 2-2 Celebration Game draw.

Prior to the East vs. West contest, MLS honored its tradition, history and pioneers by hosting an MLS Celebration Game, featured players who participated in the 1994 World Cup and then went on to play in MLS. More >


As fans approached RFK Stadium on Saturday for the All-Star festivities, they were greeted by a mecca of interactive soccer activities hailed as "Soccer Celebration." The name is a fitting one that could be extended to the whole weekend's allure. More >


2003: The best of MLS defeated the visiting CD Guadalajara, 3-1, in the 2003 All-Star Game at the Home Depot Center. All four goals came in the second half, with Ante Razov, Carlos Ruiz and DaMarcus Beasley all tallying for the MLS All-Stars. Recap & Box >

MLS postponed the planned trip to Madrid to take on Spanish power Real Madrid for the 25th annual Santiago Bernabeu Trophy -- traditionally the final international event on Real Madrid's calendar prior to the start of their domestic campaign. The league will keep the possibility open of participating in the event in the future.
